Our Team

  • Anthony Pickles

    Director

“AJP is built on professionalism, loyalty, and a commitment to excellence in our trade. From pre-construction to handover we are committed to delivering outstanding projects and enduring partnerships that stand the test of time. You can’t separate AJP and the company it is today from the people, the leadership team and our families who have all grown together over the last 30 years.”

“At AJP, we make it happen!”

  • Simon Evans

    Bricklaying

With nearly two decades at AJP, Simon Evans has built a reputation for leadership, precision, and a deep passion for his craft.

One of Simon’s proudest achievements was leading his team as a fly-in, fly out supervisor overseas for a major project in Petone, New Zealand.

"Working with AJP has allowed me to create and work with many close friends."

  • Johnny Purtell

    Bricklaying

Johnny has been with AJP for 26 years, proud to have played a role in the company’s evolution. Some of his standout projects include a church in Geelong, Mentone Grammar, and Ryman Burwood, his biggest yet. Johnny values the variety of work and the lifelong friendships built along the way.

Watching AJP take on bigger projects pushed all of us to realise there’s no job we can’t do.”

  • Troy Harper

    Concrete Pump

Troy has been with AJP for over 20 years, so long he’s lost count. He’s tackled countless projects, with Moama and Mentone football clubs standing out, along with the challenge of managing 900 tonnes of scaffold at Brandon Park. On top of his bricklaying expertise, he also runs the concrete pump, keeping things moving on-site.

“By far the best thing for me is working with good people and mates.”

  • Billy Pickles

    Bricklaying

Billy has been with AJP for 10 years, but bricklaying has been part of his life since day one as the son of AJP Director, Anthony Pickles.

Growing up around the trade, he’s built his own path in the industry, with Twin Rivers standing out as a career highlight.

AJP has been my whole life. The people, the projects, the progress means so much more to me than I ever could have imagined.”

  • Mark Lumsden

    Bricklaying

Mark has been with AJP for nearly 10 years, relocating to Echuca to help build and develop the company’s regional side. Twin Rivers stands out as a career highlight, but it’s the experiences and places he’s worked over the years that make the job special.

“AJP has a great family environment, and that’s what makes it more than just work.”

  • Tyronne

    Bricklaying

Tyronne has been with AJP for nearly a decade, starting as an apprentice and working his way up to leading hand. After an overseas stint, he made the move from New Zealand to join the team permanently in Australia.

Brandon Park holds the most memories. The best part? The team, the boys are like family to me.”

  • Dylan

    Bricklaying

Dylan has spent four years with AJP, taking on diverse projects with skill and passion. Dylan also values the craftsmanship behind projects like Blair Athol, where laying 150-year-old recycled bricks connected him to the past.

“A highlight for me was seeing the Deborah Cheetham Retirement Village in Ocean Grove through to its completion acting as the lead foreman. Such a proud moment.”
